Development of a Gas Temperature Sensor 

En’Urga Inc. developed a gas temperature sensor for a Turbine Inlet monitoring application.  En’Urga Inc. handled the project from inception to completion.  En’Urga Inc. surveyed all potential temperature sensing technology, identified the most promising one, and developed the technology for AMETEK Aerospace.  The product is currently under license from En’Urga Inc. to AMETEK Aerospace.

The RMS error of the sensor is 10K with a maximum deviation of +/- 25 K over the range of 1000 to 1700 K.  The sensor is insensitive to the gas composition and has an automatic background correction for combustor wall radiation.
