The PODscan planar drop sizers measure the scattering and extinction caused by the spray from six view angles with two linear arrays. These measurements are deconvoluted using proprietary software to provide full planar drop sizes and surface area densities. The spray measurements are obtained a frequency of 1,000 Hz enabling the characterization of fuel injectors and consumer nozzles.
