SAMPLE SPECTRA

The following spectra were obtained from a flame spread experiment conducted at Japanese Microgravity facility (JAMIC) by NASA. FILMS is viewing the edge of a cellulose flame during the drop test conducted at JAMIC. The spectra (from 2.4 to 4.8 microns) were obtained at 300 Hz. for the entire duration of the experiment (10 seconds). The data is stored on a datalogger and read out from the computer at the end of the experiment after the drop capsule has been retrieved.

The flame enters the view of the spectrometer at approximately 3 seconds after the drop.
