Laminar Flames
B. L. Approximation:
Laminar
flames that are buoyant can be cost effectively modeled using a Boundary
Layer approximation.
The advantage of using the boundary layer approximation is that
the computation costs are very low. En’Urga
Inc. uses the generalized state relationship for hydrocarbon flames in
conjunction with a mixing calculation to predict local gas species
concentrations and temperatures
Elliptic Code:
Laminar flames can also be modeled using elliptic flow solvers. These calculations, in general provide a more accurate description of the flow structure.
